Sea of Galilee
On Galilee’s shore
an empty boat waits in hope
empowered by Light.
This image immediately brought to mind the shores of the Sea of Galilee in Israel where Jesus walked and taught with His disciples, perhaps, at times from a boat. The light that suffuses the picture made me think of one of the names by which Jesus is known, the Light of the world.
Part of the delight of visiting you, Victoria, is that you see the spark of Being in so much. Perfect…
You used the image of the empty boat with skill. It is a haunting object all too easily overlooked as one is drawn to the tree.
Empty boat in an empty landscape – much can be made of this picture.
regards
Harry
Brilliant..
Loved your haiku..
esp. because of the reference of such historical significance…great work
Enlightening ..
Victoria, perfect words for the picture..
Someone is Special
Perfect words for the picture and I can see the hopeful wait!!
What a glorious reminder and beautiful Haiku.
Very, very lovely take on this photo.
The spirituality of your haiku was apparent in the title and the words. When I read your note, I knew I had found your meaning. Beautiful.
This is a divinely beautiful portrait of Jesus’s time. The image of an empty boat evoke peacefulness, refreshment, newness, and hope. I enjoyed this very much.
great narrative – I like the way the whole haiku turns on ‘hope’
I love where you took me with this.
You magnified the beauty of the picture. Very nice!
this is just divine victoria, i believe the haiku of the day for me.
The picture is gorgeous, and the haiku like the quiet yearning of my soul. A lullaby this morning, made me breath.
The haiku and picture fit each other precisely.
Your Haiku speaks so well to the photo, Victoria. This brought back a fond memory – At church when the Lesson was (John 6) about Jesus walking on water, the bulletin contained a picture of an entire beach with only a pair of discarded sandals and footprints to the water.
Really nice
I enjoyed your perception as well
A most beautifully spiritual depiction, Victoria. I love this.
You tied the prompt image and your Haiku with the Divine … wondefully penned. Thank you ~~ becca
I could see that!
