Submitted to Gooseberry Gardens where the challenge is to tell something about your life. This was written some years ago…and that’s as much as I’m telling!
Check out this video: old-lady-dancing-at-walmart ’Tis not I!
life at sixty-something
i’m outrageous
flaunt clashing colors
listen to dissonant music
dance
wear long hair
flowing dresses
comfortable shoes
make-up only if i feel like it
start new a career
in the arts
open my mouth
speak my truth
(kindly of course)
provoke thoughtfulness
step outside limits
of socially-conditioned
firmly-held
unshakable beliefs
question
challenge
hold firm or disregard
spend time each day in non-productivity
reflecting
doubting
probing
God’s not
a tightly packaged
sealed commodity
not limited at all
too fun and playful for theologians
i for one
don’t want to miss out
on the next surprise
life is splendid at sixty-something!
As I turn fifty-something (today) I find this hopeful and inspiring — maybe I practice the lessons you have learned!
Don’t tell too many people about the fabulous freedoms of 60 plus. It’ll become terribly crowded here!
wonderful…I hope you keep stepping outside your limits and always keep questioning

Awesome, Victoria.
\\(^:^)// — BRAVO!!
your words are like dancing feet or powerful fists,
they form amazing imagery.
Glad to see you share,
Bless you.
Happy Poetry Picnic.
Well, you sound like a very vibrant over-sixty-someone! K.
I agree with your statement that life is great at sixty something. It is… aren’t we lucky.
Yet some of my friends and contemporaries that I thought were so strong have not made it. I guess it means allowing the Universe to know what is best for us..
oh to finally have peace! kids out of the house for sure! i am happy you are living with passion!!!
