Sensational Wednesday Haiku–Theme: Food

Sliced Mexican mangoes.

This is a late attempt…spent the day in a golf tournament in beautiful Carson Valley, thinking about food. No lunch today.

Desire

Wide open mussels,
steamy in garlicky sauce,
wait to be consumed.

Succulent mangoes
nestle with pineapple chunks:
voluptous pair.

I’ve never had mussels (yes, I live under a sizable rock, LOL), but your description sounds so fantastic!! Yum….

Yes – I think after your golf tournament you were feeling somewhat hungry 😉

Loved the haiku about mangoes. The image of mangoes always brings back a memory of me being in Beijing at a conference – and one of my work colleagues (who was Hindu) prepared mangoes for all of his friends. It was the most delicious mango EVER, espcially as it also meant so much for him.
