Sensational Haiku Wednesday–“Ascension”

Ascension
A Tribute to the Courage of the Miners in Chile
A Haiku

Painted steel bullet
shot from the bowels of the earth
dark path to freedom.

Buried deep inside
find treasures or transgressions
consciousness un-mined.

We are like miners
thoughts inching toward the surface
blinded by light.

    Wonderful tribute to the miners!

Sorry that I am late this week. I had a migraine and using the computer (or my eyes) was just out for a couple of days.

what a beautiful set of haiku here, victoria! your words resonated as i vividly recalled that day when the whole world watched the triumphant rescue of these men. i agree with you, there’s a part in each and everyone of us that live like miners- “thoughts inching toward the surface.”

    this is a masterpiece!

These are stunningly beautiful and so true. Loved them and how you related them to the miners. Excellent. You know being born and raised in Nevada my family said how could I not go for UNR. Easy my heart is in Hawai’i now 🙂 it was a great game.
