Sea of Galilee
On Galilee’s shore
an empty boat waits in hope
empowered by Light.
This image immediately brought to mind the shores of the Sea of Galilee in Israel where Jesus walked and taught with His disciples, perhaps, at times from a boat. The light that suffuses the picture made me think of one of the names by which Jesus is known, the Light of the world.
Part of the delight of visiting you, Victoria, is that you see the spark of Being in so much. Perfect…

You used the image of the empty boat with skill. It is a haunting object all too easily overlooked as one is drawn to the tree.

Your Haiku speaks so well to the photo, Victoria. This brought back a fond memory – At church when the Lesson was (John 6) about Jesus walking on water, the bulletin contained a picture of an entire beach with only a pair of discarded sandals and footprints to the water.
