Recipe for Disaster for Meeting the Bar

Before beginning,
gather all necessary ingredients
as listed in your political platforms.

1.
Divide them into two
unequal parts
then toss into an iron-clad pot.

2.
Stir to maximum dissension
over a slow heat
then reduce the temperature to a simmer.

3.
As soon as logic has dissolved
empty the contents
into a large bowl
and discard any solution.

4.
Knead and flatten what remains
before submitting
to a vote.

5.
Be sure to scramble
the Mess-age
thoroughly
before serving
to the media and masses.

6.
Recess the senate
and leave it to someone else
to clean up after you.

I was browsing through a cookbook last night and the verbs popped out at me, so that’s where I went for today’s poem written for dVerse Meeting the Bar where I’m the bartender today. The prompt is to use verbs as a tool to liven up your work. I hope you will join us. The doors will open at 3:00 PM EST. I’ll be a bit late to join in since I have a hot date with the hubby. Hope they don’t dock my pay! 

I’ve italicized verbs AND words derived from verbs. Cookbooks are full of them.
