The Loveliness of Faith

You sigh.
I hear the scent
of more to come,
touch the promise
in your ghostly whisper—
only a wisp of grace,
so like the fragrant rose
outside your window.
Take my hand.
Lead me where you will,
beloved one.
I have no fear.

I like the idea of following without fear. That might be one definition of faith.

Your poem reads like a gentle breath, Victoria, with the sibilance in the words ‘sigh’, ‘scent’, ‘promise’, ‘whisper’ and ‘wisp’ that lead beautifully to the final lines submitting to the care and protection of a loved one – a perfect Valentine.
