I penned this too late for De’s Quadrille prompt last week, so here it is for OLN using the word WINK. Sorry I’ve been absent so long. My husband was away for seven weeks to oversee work in Palm Desert and left his huge garden responsibilities to me! Not to mention our spoiled dogs.
I Am
a Quadrille
I am a periwinkle sky in May,
obsidian roiling sea when winter
winks at weakening boundaries.
And when summer evening
breezes kiss the dusk, there you will
find me waiting ‘neath the
sheltering green of maples.
Watch carefully and you will see.

I also loved the periwinkle sky, and all 44 words, and specially this:
“And when summer evening
breezes kiss the dusk, there you will
find me waiting ‘neath the
sheltering green of maples.”
Next time your sweetie has to leave town send him those lines and he will want to hurry back sooner, and then you get to get im back in the garden 😉

Sigh. On such a wintery day, to read your words, Victoria, provides hope, in a few short months, it’ll be spring, again. Replacing the blah grey skies with colour to dazzle one’s eyes. Am hoping for a short winter, in southern Ontario. Well, one dream. 🙂

I can’t wait for that. Love your color of periwinkle sky in May, Victoria. I hope you are well despite the hectic garden chores and dog cares.

No more garden, that’s for sure. Dogs. That’s another story.

Wonderful use of colour, Victoria, and I love the thought of winter winking weakening boundaries’ and summer evening breezes kissing the dusk.

When winter winks weakening boundries…. Very nice… It does play with us for sure! I hope the maples were not referring to your demise!?

I hope not…not my intention, anyway.
