There are many poetic devices in our writer’s toolbox that many of us turn to without a second thought, I think of such things as rhythm, movement, repetition and alliteration. We use them because they are pleasing to the ear.
Even when writing prose, I find myself “feeling” syllable counts, stresses and alliteration–a form of repetition that draws the reader in.
For today’s prompt, write a poem or a bit of prose, even if just a paragraph of description, in which you use alliteration. I bet, if you go back into some of your archives, you will find an example…even if you were unaware that you were using alliteration at the time.

So happy to see this. I recently read some material by an English poet of note – I like him – and was disappointed to see him discourage alliteration. I think it is a natural part of our “toolbox” … Bravo!
